Clockify’s free plan changed in April 2026. Here’s what you can use instead.

In April 2026, Clockify moved billable rates, CSV/Excel export, shared report links and full-length reports behind a paid plan. If you bill by the hour, that’s most of what you actually open a time tracker for.

The real difference: how rates work

Most alternatives — including ones built specifically to catch people leaving Clockify — treat a billable rate as one flat number per project. WorkSnap doesn’t: a rate set on your profile flows down to every client and project automatically, and any one of them can hold its own value without breaking the ones that still follow. Rounding rules work the same way — set once, overridden exactly where you need to, respected by every report.

That isn’t a paid tier here. It’s free, without any plans or tiers.

Where Clockify is ahead

This page is about a structural difference, not a claim that WorkSnap does more. Clockify does several things WorkSnap deliberately doesn’t:

When to stay with Clockify

If you need more than one user, rely on an integration or the API, want a native app rather than an installable web app, or would rather have a large, established team behind the tool you depend on — Clockify is the more sensible choice, paid plan or not.

WorkSnap is for the narrower case: one person, billing by the hour, who wants rates, rounding and reporting to work properly without paying for them.
