The Free Core
Every tool says it has a free plan. Then the free plan gets smaller. This page exists so you can hold me to something specific instead of taking my word for it.
What’s in the core
These features are free for a single user, permanently, with no usage cap:
- The time tracker itself — timer mode and manual entry
- Unlimited time entries, projects and clients
- Billable and non-billable marking
- Hourly rates at project, client and profile level
- Rounding rules
- Detailed reports and the dashboard, over any date range
- Export of all your data — CSV, XLSX and PDF
- Multi-currency support
This list can grow. It cannot shrink.
If something is added to the core, it stays in the core.
Three commitments
1. There will be no paid plan.
Not a “pro” tier, not a “plus” tier. If voluntary support arrives later, it will buy influence over what I build next — never a feature, a higher limit, longer data retention, or an export. The moment money unlocks functionality, this page becomes worthless and I’d have become the thing I built this against.
2. Your data is never held hostage.
Full export, all formats, all of your history, free, always. If you want to leave, you leave with everything. A tool that makes leaving expensive doesn’t have to stay good.
3. If I ever shut this down, you get 90 days’ notice.
This is a one-person project, so it’s fair to ask what happens if I stop. The answer is 90 days of notice and a working export for the whole period — not an email saying the service ended yesterday.
Why you can believe this
Because it costs me nothing to keep.
WorkSnap has no team features, no integrations, and no enterprise customers. Running it is cheap and keeping it small is the point. There’s no investor asking where the revenue is and no free tier cannibalising a paid one — because there isn’t a paid one.
The usual reason a free plan shrinks simply doesn’t apply here.
