Closing your account
You can close your account yourself, at any time, from Settings → Close account. Closing isn’t immediate deletion: for 30 days you can change your mind and restore everything, and only after that is your data erased for good.
Before you close it
Once the account is erased nothing can bring the data back, so if you may need your hours again — for an invoice, a tax return or another tool — download them first. Getting your whole history shows how, and what such a file holds: every time entry with its project and client, though not your settings.
Closing the account
Settings → Close account explains what will happen and asks you to confirm. It doesn’t ask for a password — accounts that sign in with Google don’t have one. When you confirm:
- you are signed out, and the account can no longer be signed in to — with a password or with Google;
- an email arrives at the account’s address, with a link to restore it;
- your clients, projects and time entries stay exactly as they were, out of reach until the account is restored or erased.
Can’t sign in to close it? Write to info [at] worksnap [dot] eu and it will be closed for you.
The 30 days that follow
For 30 days after closing, the account is kept whole and can be restored. During that time its email address stays reserved: it can’t be used to sign up for a new WorkSnap account, because restoring the old one needs it.
Restoring your account
Open the link in the closing email and confirm on the page it opens. The account comes back exactly as you left it, and a second email confirms it. Then sign in as usual — restoring doesn’t sign you in by itself, in case the link reached someone else. The link works for the whole 30 days and once only.
Lost the email? Reply to any message from WorkSnap or write to info [at] worksnap [dot] eu from the account’s address, and the account can be restored for you within the same 30 days.
One thing to check after coming back: if a timer was running when you closed the account, it has kept counting. Stop it, and correct the end time if needed — see entering time.
What is deleted at the end
When the 30 days are up, the account is erased permanently and irreversibly, together with everything in it: clients, projects, time entries (including any still in the Recycle bin) and your settings. After that the restore link no longer works, and the email address is free to use again. Copies inside backups disappear as those backups expire on their normal rotation.
