Right now, it doesn’t. WorkSnap is a side project built by one person, and running it is cheap because it’s deliberately small. Later, there will probably be a voluntary way to support it — closer to a patronage model than a subscription. If that happens, supporters will get a say in what gets built next. They will never get a feature that you don’t.

Yes. WorkSnap is the free time tracker at worksnap.eu, built and run by one person in the EU, and worksnap.eu is its only website. A few other products use the same name; they have nothing to do with this one. The real WorkSnap isn’t in the App Store or Google Play, never pays you for anything, never asks for your phone number and never messages you on WhatsApp, Telegram or SMS — the only messages it sends are emails about your own account.

No. The code is closed, mostly because maintaining a public project properly — issues, pull requests, discussions — is a commitment I can’t make alongside building the product. The trust that open source would buy is on the Free Core page instead: a dated public promise, a guaranteed export, and notice if it ever ends.

You get 90 days’ notice and a working export the whole time. It’s a fair question to ask a one-person project and it deserves a specific answer rather than reassurance.

Because there’s nothing to ask about. Cookie banners exist to collect consent for third-party tracking, and WorkSnap doesn’t load any — no Google Analytics, no advertising pixels, no session recording, not even fonts from someone else’s CDN. Analytics run on our own Umami instance in the EU, without cookies and without personal identifiers. The only cookies WorkSnap sets keep you logged in and protect against CSRF. Your theme follows your device’s system preference and isn’t stored in a cookie at all. Those are necessary for the site to function, which under EU law doesn’t require consent. So the banner isn’t missing — it was never needed.

No. Two honest notes on this: Clockify’s CSV export is itself now a paid feature, so many people can’t get their data out without paying for at least a month — and if you stay on their free plan, your old entries are still visible there, just limited to 31 days per report.
