Installing WorkSnap as an app
WorkSnap isn’t in the App Store or Google Play, and it won’t be. What it does have is a way to add it to your home screen anyway — a proper icon that opens full screen, with no browser bar around it. That’s a Progressive Web App, or PWA: a website that a browser can install like an app, rather than one you download from a store.
Android and desktop — Chrome or Edge
Log in first — the install option only appears inside the app, not on this website. Open the menu (the icon in the top corner), and near the bottom you’ll see Install app. Tap or click it, then confirm in the prompt your browser shows. The icon lands on your home screen or desktop straight away.
If you don’t see that menu item, WorkSnap is already installed on that device, or your browser doesn’t support installing web apps.
iPhone or iPad — Safari
Safari doesn’t show an “Install app” option, so this one is a few taps rather than a single button:
- Log in to WorkSnap in Safari.
- Tap the Share icon (the square with an arrow pointing up).
- Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
- Confirm the name and tap Add.
This has to be done from Safari itself — Chrome or another browser on an iPhone can’t add a home-screen icon, even though the app works fine inside them.
What changes once it’s installed
- An icon on your home screen or desktop, same as any other app.
- Opening it runs WorkSnap full screen — no address bar, no browser tabs around it.
- Nothing to find or review in an app store, because it was never listed in one.
- No update to download, ever — the icon always opens the current version, the same one you’d get in a browser tab.
What it isn’t: WorkSnap still needs an internet connection to work, the same as the browser version. There’s no offline mode and no notifications — installing changes how the app opens, not what it can do while you’re offline.
