Report charts

Detailed tells you what you worked on; the Dashboard and Cumulative tell you where the time went. Both add up the same entries Detailed lists, using the same filter bar — how that bar works is on Reports and filters.

The Dashboard

The first row has three numbers for the filtered period: how many Entries, the Total time as you tracked it, and the Rounded time after your rounding rules. Below them are three pie charts:

Work without a client or a project is gathered in one slice, No client or No project. Time on a project you have since deleted is counted there too — the entries are still yours, the project just no longer has a name to show.

Actual or rounded time

On the Dashboard and in Cumulative the filter bar has one more list: Actual time or Rounded time. Actual is the time as you tracked it, to the second. Rounded is the same time after the rounding rules of each entry’s project, client or profile — the time you bill. It starts on Actual and remembers your choice like the filters do.

What it switches, exactly:

The line under each chart’s title says which time it is showing. The switch never changes an amount: amounts are always worked out from rounded time, whichever view you are looking at.

The Cumulative report

Cumulative answers “how much in total, on what, and in what proportion”. Under the filter bar it repeats the two time charts, then lists one row per project with its client, its time and its share of the total, with a Total row at the end. The list starts with the biggest project; tap a column heading to sort by it, and again to reverse.

Cumulative can be downloaded as CSV, XLSX or PDF from the download icon in the filter bar; the file uses the time you chose with the switch. What each file holds is in exporting reports.

The numbers always agree

For the same filters, the time by client, the time by project and the Cumulative total are the same number — and it matches the Detailed totals: Duration when the switch is on Actual, Rounded when it is on Rounded. If two reports ever seem to disagree, check that the filter bar and the switch are set the same way on both.
